why should you die

chester maynes

so much goodbye
so much cry
a little twinge
of the lips
i utter a sigh

leaving is
always a
separation so
painful and
all tears go

eyes meant to cry
lips meant to sigh
words of goodbye
sad songs are dry
why should you die

The Way to Lose Your Followers – Admit you are listening to Bieber

cool…EXACTLY !! (sorry Bieber fans…if there even are any…)

3 diameters of i love you

really beautifull poem by chester C:

chester maynes

silvery silvery silvery
wrapped in blue foiled canary
turtle hours and stalkers
seated on a bench are the loners

neon signs and traffic lights
misty moonshadow sights
pain killers and vampire bites
creepy hollow fright nights

sweetheart notes on scented papers
pop delight and ragamuffin shakers
12 thousand husband seekers
in i love you of 3 diameters

A Presentation

20130503-103432.jpg

*damn, It’s my turn…*she thought to herself. what she dreaded most has to come so she has prepared, she had to prepare for it and she did…everything was in place and should’ve all gone well. Her trying harder, the times reading the script over and over and mending it again and again, will finally pay off. Or that was what she thought…until the moment she took off from her seat to get to the front of the class a knot has formed in my stomach and she was on the verge of hyperventilating…she knew she wouldn’t make it, not this time not ever, she started to count to herself *breathe in ‘one’…breathe out ‘one’…breathe in ‘two’…breathe out ‘two’…breathe in ‘three’… …*it seemed the moment she stood in front of the class her mind always wiped clean, cleared out all the distracting memories…but also all her effort… Her body working on like an automaton, her friend reads and she flips the slides…missing out a few slides at times… A thought crept into her mind *my friend must’ve been so annoyed at how distracted I am, my classmates are all gonna see the failure they thought I am…or maybe I really am one…* By the time it was her turn, all that’s left of her confidence and preparation was an empty void of fear. Was it the distant jeering voice from a memory telling her she couldn’t do it; or was it the multiple restrictions and punishments which fell upon her no matter how hard she tried, perhaps…but no one would know…because even she doesn’t. She completed the presentation accompanied with repeated errors and stuttering at words she could once phrase so smoothly, utterly disappointed at herself. As she walks back to her seat relieved that it was finally over, she knew she was defeated once again… As she left the class a fading voice from her memory repeated once more * “you’ll never be enough…” * She couldn’t amend what’s done, but she promised she’d try harder from then on…Perhaps years later she would still be trying, still trying to be better, no one knew when or where would she ever be good enough.

What does it mean to be a vegan?

A vegetarian does not eat animal flesh. This includes beef, pork, chicken, veal, lamb, duck, fish. Anything that once lived and breathed, had a mother and a father, a face, etc. A vegan is someone that in addition to this, also does not eat, wear or use any animal derived products so dairy, eggs, honey and so on, leather and animal tested products… Anything that uses an animal for profit or human gain is out. We believe that animals are not ours to use, simply because they are voiceless and unable to defend themselves against us.

Becoming Vegan ?

Ways to transition to becoming a vegan.

– Meat substitution

Substituting meat with faux meats or other foods such as legumes, or beginning with meat free Mondays is another way people often begin a transition. After reducing meat intake, eventually, remove it from your diet altogether and became a vegetarian. From there, you can to the category below, making the final transition to veganism.

– Vegetarian to Vegan

Making the leap from no flesh to the elimination of dairy and eggs or animal by products is a common one, but can often be one of the more difficult steps. Cheese contains casomorphins, an opiate like substance that literally, causes a form of addiction. No wonder it can be difficult to give up! Once you manage to eliminate it from your diet and allow your tastebuds a chance to adapt, you find that vegan cheeses are an amazing find in themselves. There are such a wide range of alternative milks on the market that changing to a soy, nut, or grain milk is simply a matter of finding your preference.

Removing eggs from your diet becomes easy once you understand how tofu can replace a scrambled egg, how many baking alternatives exist for eggs, and what egg replacer actually is!

I re-blogged this blog because I am also a vegan and I’d rather go for salads than ever eating meat. I wish I could spread the message of how becoming vegan or at the very least vegetarian is going to help the world.

From John Robbins book Diet For A New America, to produce a single pound of meat takes an average of 2,500 gallons of water — as much as a typical family uses for all its combined household purposes in a month. Hence, to produce a day’s food for one meat-eater takes over 4,000 gallons; for a lacto-ovo vegetarian, only 1,200 gallons; for a pure vegetarian, only 300 gallons. It takes less water to produce a year’s food for a pure vegetarian than to produce a month’s food for a meat-eater.

Over half the total amount of water consumed in the United States goes to irrigate land growing feed and fodder for livestock. Enormous additional quantities of water must also be used to wash away the animals’ excrement. It would be hard to design a less water-efficient diet-style than the one we have come to think of as normal.

Eating meat is also indirectly wasting the food we have.

The livestock population of the United States today consumes enough grain and soybeans to feed over five times the entire human population of the country. We feed these animals over 80% of the corn we grow, and over 95% of the oats. It is hard to grasp how immensely wasteful is a meat-oriented diet-style. By cycling our grain through livestock, we end up with only 10% as many calories available to feed human mouths as would be available if we ate the grain directly.

To supply one person with a meat habit food for a year requires three-and-a-quarter acres. To supply one lacto-ovo vegetarian with food for a year requires one-half acre. To supply one pure vegetarian [vegan] requires only one-sixth of an acre. In other words, a given acreage can feed twenty times as many people eating a pure vegetarian diet-style as it could people eating the standard American diet-style.

According to the Department of Agriculture statistics, one acre of land can grow 20,000 pounds of potatoes. That same acre of land, if used to grow cattle feed, can produce less than 165 pounds of beef. In a world in which a child dies of starvation every two seconds, an agricultural system designed to feed our meat habit is a blasphemy.
